Pandemik COVID-19 telah mengubah sepenuhnya mod pengajaran dari pembelajaran bersemuka dan pembelajaran teradun (Blended learning, BL) kepada pengajaran dalam talian atau e-pembelajaran (E-learning). Selain menghadapi cabaran asas seperti pencapaian dan kestabilan rangkaian internet, hasil pembelajaran juga dipengaruhi oleh kemahiran guru dalam menggunakan teknologi pendidikan moden dan sikap pembelajaran pelajar. Sejak tahun 2016, Kursus Bahasa Mandarin di Universiti Sabah Malaysia (UMS) telah menggunakan Quizlet sebagai alat pembelajaran aksara Cina dalam talian. Ketika dilanda pandemik, pembelajaran dalam talian secara bersemuka (Synchronous Learning) ataupun secara tidak bersemuka (Asynchronous Learning) telah mengatasi masalah jarak dengan membolehkan pelajar belajar serentak dan mengatur waktu pembelajaran secara bebas. Namun, terdapat kekangan seperti kelajuan Internet dan sikap pembelajaran pelajar turut mempengaruhi keberkesanan pembelajaran pelajar dalam menguasai aksara Cina. Kaji selidik dijalankan bagi melihat isu dan masalah penggunaan Quizlet yang dihadapi oleh pelajar Kursus Bahasa Mandarin kohort tahun 2022 di UMS yang pernah mengalami pembelajaran serentak dalam talian semasa pandemik di peringkat sekolah menengah dan kelas fizikal di universiti selepas pandemik. Maka, hasil analisis kajian ini dapat memberikan rujukan bagi pengajaran aksara Cina dalam talian dan luar talian bagi kursus Bahasa Cina sebagai bahasa asing.
