"ترجمة جوجل" (Google Translate) هو برنامج ترجمة آلية مجانية تقدمه شركة جوجل، ويعد من البرامج الشهيرة الذي يستخدمه الطلبة بشكل خاص في التعامل مع الآخرين، وإنجاز الواجبات، وغير ذلك. بناءً على ذلك، جاء هذا البحث بهدف معرفة إيجابيات وسلبيات استخدام "ترجمة جوجل" للترجمة من اللغة الملايوية إلى اللغة العربية لدى طلبة مركز الدراسات الأساسية في الجامعة الإسلامية العالمية بماليزيا. ولتحقيق هذا الهدف، اعتمد البحث على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، مستخدمًا أداة الاستبانة. شارك في الدراسة ٨٧ طالبًا وطالبة من طلبة مادة لغة القرآن بالمستوى المتوسط (LQAF 0834)، حيث قاموا بالإجابة على أسئلة الاستبانة. توصل البحث إلى مجموعة من النتائج، من أبرزها: أقر الطلبة بأن من أغلب الإيجابيات في استخدام "ترجمة جوجل" أنه يساعد في توفير الوقت عند الترجمة، وفي ترجمة المقالات من اللغة الملايوية إلى اللغة العربية، كما تساعد في كتابة الأبحاث باللغة العربية. أما أبرز السلبيات التي يواجهها الطلبة عند استخدام "ترجمة جوجل" فتتمثل في الحاجة إلى تعديل الترجمة بعد الحصول عليها لتحسين دقتها، وعدم توافق الترجمة مع السياق، إضافة إلى عدم التأكد من صحة الترجمة الناتجة للجمل المعقدة.
