Abstract

This paper discusses the requirements for designing Arabic language module for specific purposes (tourism). The emergence of the Arabic for specific language has manifested in the late period of this century, and it contains many issues that can be remedied through continuous study in this field, and the problems such as: the lack of experts in ASP and the lack of materials and references has been considered a major problem in this field, and no clear curriculum of ASP as well contributed on it. This study benefited from the problems and weakneses in this field to develop and design the curriculum of ASP (tourism). This research takes a scientific approach to develop the fundamentals on which it depends in the module design requirements by inductive and exploratory study in the design of English for specific purposes; because this language has preceded the Arabic in this field for more than 40 years. Accordingly, the research attempted to design Arabic for specific purposes module, dealt with the absolute and varible characteristics. The students' needs are importance in designing these module, taking into account originality in the specific language field. This research is a pioneer in the development of special Arabic curricula.
