The thematic approach through the use of Canva in the teaching and learning of Malay Language

The themed approach is a teaching and learning (PdP) method that utilizes a theme implemented alongside knowledge, skills, values, and other disciplines to create more engaging learning experiences and encourage students to think critically and creatively. The objective of this study is to review student engagement in the thematic approach to project-based Malay language learning through the use of the Canva application. Three students from the sixth grade were selected as study informants. The research design is qualitative, using a structured interview instrument. The study findings indicate that there are five identified themes: student motivation, fostering High Order Thinking Skills (KBAT), language skills, social skills, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) literacy. In conclusion, the themed approach can be implemented through more engaging and meaningful project-based learning, capable of uncovering students' creative talents using the Canva application in Malay language teaching to produce digitally fluent students in line with 21st-century learning.
